The Safe Transport of Lithium Batteries – Code LITHBATTRAIN

REMOTE CLASSROOM COURSE: Tuesday 20th and Wednesday 21st October

A 2-day course from the leading dangerous goods compliance company, Labeline Intl. – This can also be an in-house course and it can be tailored to suit your company’s specific requirements.  For more information please contact our sales team.

The course is delivered by CAA approved trainers, either Geoff Leach or Ross McLachlan.

Geoff is the former Head of the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Dangerous Goods Office. He is the current Chairman of IATA’s Lithium Battery Workshop and has previously been the Chairman of the ICAO Dangerous Goods Panel.

Ross is formerly the CAA’s Dangerous Goods Policy Specialist and has had nearly 25 years’ experience in Dangerous Goods enforcement.

Lithium Battery legislation is complex. This course explains the requirements and includes practical learning exercises.

Delegates will come away with greater awareness and the knowledge to find, and use, information in the dangerous goods regulations so as to prepare correctly a consignment of lithium batteries for ALL MODES OF TRANSPORT.

The bulk of the course sessions cover the requirements in the more stringent regulations for air (IATA DGR), after which there is an examination.  Candidates will be notified of their CAA Accreditation status a few days after completing the course and certificates will be issued to those who the minimum pass mark of 80%*.

Following the exam, the focus turns to the primary differences and additional requirements that are specified in ADR and the IMDG Code.

The course will be conducted remotely using online video and the exam will also be invigilated remotely.  To see how the course and exam will be conducted, download our Guidance Document by clicking here.

Candidates will require a hard copy of the IATA DGR to use throughout the course and exam.  The publication can be purchased at a discounted price when ordered with the course (see below).

If the only dangerous goods that you ship are lithium batteries you will find the appropriate regulations in the IATA Lithium Battery Shipping Guidelines.  However, this publication cannot be used for this CAA accredited course and exam.

*Labeline reserves the right to withhold certificates until the training has been paid for.
